Description
Before they were burned to the ground during World War II, hundreds of wooden synagogues dotted Poland’s countryside and cities. Gwoździec Re!construction (Handshouse Studio, 2014) documents the process of creating a full-scale replica of the 17th century Gwoździec Synagogue, now a centerpiece of the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw. Learn how an international team of 296 historians, architects, artisans, students and artists brought this architectural gem of Polish Jewry to life.
